Dear Leaders, Scouts, Cubs and Beavers,

For me, this festive season is about one thing: kindness.

It’s something we’ve seen a lot of from our Scouts and volunteers in 2020. You’ve spent the year helping others, even when you’ve been having a tough time yourselves. You’ve done everything you can to support young people. And the way you’ve supported each other is truly inspiring.

Our end of year film is about kindness too. It’s about finding special moments to show how much we care, rediscovering the magic in what we do and the incredible reward of seeing young people’s faces light up (even if it’s on Zoom). That’s special – and that’s all thanks to you.

Watch the film below.

I hope you can find some time to rest and recharge over the holiday (and wow, have you earned it).

Happy and peaceful wishes to you all – and here’s to a better 2021!

Volunteers Are Everything To Us! Ian awarded his 25 years!

At the recent Regional AGM, four of our volunteers received special awards.  Whilst Ian wasn’t able to be at the AGM to collect in person, GSL Liz Garvie presented Ian with his 25 year service award at Beavers.

Well done, Ian, and thank you for everything you bring to the Group.

Claim the badges earned out with Cub sessions!

There are many, many badges to be awarded through Scouting, some are completed out with the weekly Cubs session and can be done through school, home life or the weekly clubs so many children attend.

We’ve listed just some of the badges we commonly see completed out with the weekly sessions – but there are loads more which may already have been completed! Make sure you look at the Challenge Awards at the bottom as we’d love it if your Cub could complete the Chief Scout’s Silver Award before heading off to Scouts, but we’ll need your help with this.
